Boasting exceptional performance and efficiency, the LP2992AIM5-3.3/NOPB is a standout 250-mA, fixed-output voltage regulator crafted to provide ultra-low dropout and low noise in battery-powered applications. Utilizing an optimized vertically integrated PNP (VIP) process, the LP2992 excels in delivering unparalleled performance across all aspects crucial to battery-powered designs. This precision regulator offers a minimal dropout voltage of typically 450mV at 250-mA load and 5mV at 1-mA load, ensuring efficient power delivery. Furthermore, it features a ground pin current of typically 1500µA at 250-mA load and 75µA at 1-mA load, making it an ideal choice for low-power designs. With enhanced stability, the LP2992 operates with an output capacitor equivalent series resistance (ESR) as low as 5mΩ, allowing for the use of ceramic capacitors on the output, further enhancing its performance. In sleep mode, the regulator consumes less than 1-µA quiescent current when the ON/OFF pin is pulled low, effectively conserving battery power. Its SOT-23 and WSON packages occupy minimal board space, adding to its versatility. Additionally, it offers precision output with 1% tolerance output voltages available (A grade) and low noise, with the option to reduce output noise to 30µV (typical) by adding a 10-nF bypass capacitor.
