In situations where the output load exceeds the current-limit threshold or a short circuit occurs, the TPS2052BDRBR acts quickly to limit the output current to a safe level by switching into a constant-current mode. The device also features overcurrent (OCx) logic output to signal when such events occur. Additionally, a thermal protection circuit prevents damage by shutting off the switch if the junction temperature rises due to continuous heavy overloads or short circuits.
